Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Troy Vinson ("we," "us"), who operates sp-gifts-app. By creating an account or using sp-gifts-app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Who can use sp-gifts-app

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you use sp-gifts-app on behalf of a church or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to do so and that the organization agrees to these terms.

Your account

You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email, or with a Google, Microsoft, Facebook, or X account. Keep your email and those accounts secure; you are responsible for activity on your sp-gifts-app account. Give us accurate information, and let us know at troy@tinkertroy.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.

About your results

The spiritual gifts assessment is a tool to help you and your church discern how God may have gifted you. Results are not a definitive judgment of your gifts, calling, or spiritual maturity, and they are not professional, psychological, or pastoral counseling. Use them alongside prayer, Scripture, and the counsel of mature believers.

Inviting others

You may invite people who know you to answer questions about you. Only invite people you know who you reasonably expect would welcome the invitation, and do not use invitations to send spam.

Organizations

Organizations such as churches and ministries can use sp-gifts-app to see the gifts of members who choose to join them. If you administer an organization, you agree to:

• use members' information only for ministry purposes within your organization
• limit access to people in your organization who need it
• not export, sell, or share members' information outside your organization except as members expect
• follow the laws that apply to your organization's use of personal information

Members may leave an organization at any time.

Subscriptions

Some organization features may require a paid subscription. When offered:

• subscriptions are billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically until canceled
• you can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• we do not provide refunds for partial billing periods, except where the law requires it
• we will give at least 30 days' notice before changing the price of an existing subscription

Acceptable use

Do not:

• use sp-gifts-app in a way that breaks the law or harms others
• try to access accounts, information, or parts of sp-gifts-app you are not allowed to access
• interfere with sp-gifts-app's operation or security, or overload it with automated requests
• copy, scrape, or redistribute the assessment questions or other content
• impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship with an organization

Content and ownership

The spiritual gifts assessment and related content are adapted from the Basden-Johnson Spiritual Gift Analysis, copyright 1987, revised 1998 and 2013, Paul Basden, Ph.D. and Lee Johnson, Ph.D., Gift-Based Ministry, Inc., and are used with permission. You may not reproduce this content outside sp-gifts-app.

You keep ownership of the information you add to sp-gifts-app. You give us permission to store, process, and display it as needed to provide sp-gifts-app to you and to the organizations you choose to share it with.

Availability

sp-gifts-app is a volunteer project. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and sp-gifts-app may sometimes be unavailable. If we ever shut sp-gifts-app down, we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to get a copy of your information.

Disclaimers

sp-gifts-app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of sp-gifts-app. Our total liability for any claim relating to sp-gifts-app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.

Ending your use

You can stop using sp-gifts-app and delete your account at any time from your profile page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, with notice when reasonable.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we publish a new version with a new effective date. If the changes are significant, we will ask you to review and accept the new version the next time you sign in. If you do not agree, you may delete your account.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute relating to these terms or sp-gifts-app will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
