Privacy Policy

sp-gifts-app is a spiritual gifts assessment operated by Troy Vinson ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who can see it, and the choices you have.

The short version: we collect only what we need to run sp-gifts-app, we never sell your information or show you ads, your results are visible only to you and to organizations you choose to join, and you can delete your account at any time.

Information we collect

Account information. You sign in with a one-time link we email to you, or with an account from Google, Microsoft, Facebook, or X. We store your name and email address. If you use one of those providers, we also receive an account identifier from it. We do not receive your contacts, posts, or friends list, and we never post on your behalf. We never see or store a password.

Profile information. Anything you add to your profile, such as a phone number and your answers to the ministry history questions (ministries you have served in, ministries you are passionate about, and ministries you would like to start).

Assessment information. Your answers to the spiritual gifts questionnaire and the results we calculate from them.

Observer information. When you invite someone to answer questions about you, we store the name and email address you give us so we can send the invitation. When someone answers questions about you, we store their answers as part of your results.

Organization information. If you join a church or ministry organization on sp-gifts-app, we store your membership and role. If you administer an organization, we store the organization's details, its ministry positions, and messages sent through sp-gifts-app.

Technical information. Our servers record your IP address and browser type when you visit, as part of normal operation and security. See our Cookie Policy for the cookies we use.

Spiritual information is sensitive

Your assessment answers and results reveal information about your religious beliefs and practice. We treat this as sensitive information and use it only to provide sp-gifts-app to you and to the organizations you choose to share it with.

How we use information

We use your information to:

• run your account and sign you in
• calculate and show your spiritual gift results
• send emails you ask for, such as observer invitations, and emails about your account
• let organizations you join see your results and match you with ministry opportunities
• keep sp-gifts-app secure and working, and fix problems
• improve the assessment, using information that cannot identify you

We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.

Who can see your information

• You can see your own profile, answers, and results.
• Organizations you join can see your profile and results once they approve your membership. You can leave an organization at any time, and it will no longer see your information.
• People who answer questions about you cannot see your results. You cannot see any one person's individual answers; observer answers are combined.
• Service providers that help us run sp-gifts-app, under agreements to protect your information and use it only for that purpose: DreamHost (web hosting), Google, Microsoft, Meta (Facebook), and X (sign-in), our email delivery provider, and, when organizations subscribe to paid features, Stripe (payments). Payment card details go directly to Stripe; we never receive them.
• When the law requires it. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of any person.

How long we keep information

We keep your information for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, we delete your account, profile, answers, results, and organization memberships. Copies may remain in backups for up to 30 days before they are overwritten.

If you answered questions about someone else, those answers remain part of that person's results after you delete your account, but they are no longer connected to you.

Your choices and rights

• See and correct your profile at any time from your profile page.
• Delete your account at any time from your profile page.
• Get a copy of your information, or ask any question about it, by emailing troy@tinkertroy.com.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or state privacy laws. Contact us and we will honor them.

Age requirement

sp-gifts-app is for people 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe someone under 16 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), keep access to information limited, and do not store passwords. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects it.

Where information is stored

sp-gifts-app is operated in the United States, and information is stored on servers in the United States.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we publish a new version with a new effective date. If the changes are significant, we will ask you to review and accept the new version the next time you sign in.
